The History of Seed of Life Skateboard Company AKA "SOLSK8S"
Solsk8s skate shop was founded by Central Oregon local artist, skater, and entrepreneur, Andre Antoniou. Andre has lived in Bend since 1998, his junior year of high school, and is a Mountain View high school Alumni. Solsk8s started out of artistic passion to create a skateboard product line with an emphasis on sacred geometry. It started with hand screened grip tape, painted decks to be sold out of the Pro shop at the old Truck Stop indoor skatepark. This set the brand off and running. After the unfortunate closing of Truck Stop skatepark, shop and Sideffects boardshop, Andre stepped up to fill the need for a core skateshop that provided good customer service and the best quality skate products around. Solsk8s hit the streets in their 1974 Ford van to sell PNW brands at the local skateparks in the area. Along with mobile sales, Solsk8s built a mini ramp at home out of reclaimed lumber from the indoor Truck Stop skatepark and allowed the local kids and former Truck Stop team to skate. This led to selling skateboards out of the garage for a summer. Eventually Andre found a place on Ninth and Wilson for the ramp right down the steet from the skatepark. A year and a half later the brick and mortar shop is able to supply local skaters and interested people with all the apparel and hard goods they need. Come through Solsk8s open six days a week 11-6 and Sundays 1-5.
